Good connections need a safe foundation.

What KeyMates checks, what it can't promise, and the controls that stay in your hands.

  1. An identity check is a starting point

Government ID and selfie checks help establish who someone is. They don't prove trustworthiness, ability to pay, or property ownership.

  2. Your documents stay private

Roommates see whether your application is complete, never your financial evidence. Documents stay locked until a malware scan passes.

  3. You set the pace

Accept a connection before anyone can chat with you. Accept the household and the costs separately. A conversation is never an agreement to live together.

  4. Check before you pay

View the home safely, confirm the lister's authority yourself, read the written lease, and get receipts. Never pay just because a profile is verified.

  5. Block and report

Block unwanted contact and report a listing, profile or message. Access to evidence in a case is limited and audited.

  6. A fair review

Moderation decisions can be appealed. KeyMates keeps evidence where it's justified, but can't guarantee what happens off the platform.
