Terms of Use

Draft for review. The legal entity and contact details are placeholders. Not approved for production use.

Who operates KeyMates

KeyMates is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY], of [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL]. These draft terms are not approved for production. Effective date: [DATE]. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter the proposed tenancy. Acknowledge policy updates separately when requested.

Our role

KeyMates helps people discover rental homes, connect, form households, and exchange rental applications. It is not a landlord, guarantor, insurer, credit assessor, escrow provider, or party to your lease. An identity check does not establish character, financial reliability, or ownership. Approval reserves capacity on the platform; it is not a signed tenancy.

Accounts and truthful information

Keep your credentials private, use your own identity, supply accurate information, and tell us about suspected misuse. Do not impersonate others, fabricate authority, conceal mandatory charges, or submit evidence without permission. Lister and administrator access requires approval; choosing a role does not confer it.

Households and applications

A connection or chat is not an agreement to live together. Every affected person must explicitly accept the roster, rooms, rent, and fee shares before submission. Submitted application terms are retained independently of subsequent listing changes. Any amendment requires a separately agreed version and renewed consent; do not infer acceptance from silence.

Before payment or moving in

Inspect the property safely, review the full written lease, independently confirm authority and payment instructions, and obtain receipts. Agree in writing on deposits, allowable deductions, return timing, repairs, utility responsibility, and termination. Do not pay solely because an account is verified. KeyMates cannot compel off-platform conduct.

Enforcement and disputes

We may restrict accounts, pause listings, preserve relevant evidence under a lawful hold, or remove access after a reasoned review. Use reporting and appeals to request reconsideration. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Governing law, venue, dispute procedure, limits of liability, and notices: [NIGERIAN COUNSEL TO COMPLETE].
